This committee oversees the preservation and characterization of the diverse Caribbean cultures that the carnival celebrates. It is responsible for ensuring the events, displays, and performances maintain cultural significance and promote education and appreciation of Caribbean heritage. This group may work with cultural experts, community leaders, and artists to infuse the carnival with rich traditions and histories.
Position Description: The Festival Management Committee is seeking a strategic and dynamic volunteer who will assist in overseeing the preservation and characterization of the diverse Caribbean cultures. Some responsibilities are ensuring the events, displays, and performances maintain cultural significance and promote education and appreciation of Caribbean heritage. This group may work with cultural experts, community leaders, and artists to infuse the carnival with rich traditions and histories.
As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise, passion, and ideas to help shape the strategic direction and success of our organization and board.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaboration: Work closely with fellow Cultural Advisory board members, staff, and volunteers to support and advance the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with its mission and goals.
Policy and Governance: Provide input on policies, bylaws, and governance practices to ensure the organization operates ethically, transparently, and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Fundraising: Assist in identifying and cultivating potential donors, sponsors, and partners, as well as supporting fundraising activities to ensure the financial stability of the organization.
Advocacy and Outreach: Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner to external stakeholders, including attending events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Promote and support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization and in its programs and services.

· Passion for the mission and values of the Festival Management Committee
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities.
· Willingness to commit time and energy to committee meetings, events, and related activities.
